Michelin Guide makes its historic debut in the Philippines, honoring Filipino chefs, flavors, and culinary creativity

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Philippines has officially arrived on the global fine-dining map, as the inaugural Michelin Guide ceremony, held on October 30 at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Manila Hotel at Newport World Resorts in Pasay City, unveiled its historic selection for the Michelin Guide Manila and Environs & Cebu 2026

According to Michelin Guide International Director Gwendal Poullennec, over 100 restaurants have been selected for the prestigious list, compiled by anonymous inspectors. This includes 74 Michelin Selected establishments; 25 Bib Gourmand restaurants; eight One Michelin Star honorees; and a Two Michelin Star recipient, showcasing a remarkable diversity of culinary traditions, techniques, and innovations.

“This selection pays tribute to a new generation of Filipino chefs — and international chefs who have embraced the Philippines — drawing inspiration from local heritage, bold flavors, and heartfelt hospitality. Whether in fine dining rooms or at street-side eateries, our inspectors were deeply impressed by the culinary authenticity and creativity found across the country,” Gwendal said, noting that the debut of the Michelin Guide in the Philippines marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the country’s culinary community.
