Typographical action in BBDO Bangkok's Font Fights Flood Project

ASIA-PACIFIC – BANGKOK, THAILAND, DECEMBER 2011: The Thai Flood Crisis 2011 will go down in history as the worst calamity in 30 years, affecting millions of citizens, businesses and even the stability of the government.

Together with Thai Red Cross, BBDO Bangkok Chairman and Chief Creative Suthisak Sucharittanonta, himself affected by the floods, initiated the charity effort Font Fights Flood Project to help give relief to Thailand and the citizens who are victims of the flood.

FFF is a set of fonts for people to download and use, a means to spread the word about the crisis. Font Fights Flood contains 66 alphabet characters and symbols which represent the actual incidents that occurred during the flood. For example, people lived on roof and chairs turned into walking shoes on water. Everyone can download Font Fights Flood and donate at www.fontfightsflood.com or www.facebook.com/fontfightsflood. The project also includes a poster campaign to promote the website.

Apart from using Font Fight Flood for personal use, Suthisak also hopes that the Font Fights Flood story will be useful for many others around the world as a way to prepare for future flood crises as the global climate continues to change.
