PHD Worldwide signs Malcolm Devoy to newly created role

GLOBAL – APRIL, 4, 2012: Omnicom’s PHD Worldwide has appointed Malcolm Devoy as international strategy director, a newly created role in charge of global strategy and planning capability. He will be working with worldwide strategy and planning director Mark Holden.
 
Devoy joins PHD from Arena Media where he headed the agency’s social media division, 247 Social, as well as holding the role of digital planning director for Arena.
“Malcolm is going to be a great addition to the global team as he will bring to bear the exotic skillsets of data, digital and social expertise in developing the global PHD planning product.  We’re delighted to have him on board," said Holden. 
 
Commenting on his appointment, Devoy said: “The agency has some really exciting clients and is extremely ambitious in regards to where it wants to go next. Now seems to be a very exciting time to be joining PHD Worldwide and to contribute to the next chapter in this remarkably successful story."
 
Recently PHD has picked up the USD$200 million media planning and buying account for mobile handset company Sony Ericsson and won hotel group Hyatt’s global digital media planning and buying business.  Other global and international clients include SC Johnson, Porsche, Canon, Esprit, Unilever, Elizabeth Arden, Mars, L’Oreal, Expedia and Kraft Foods.
