The Sweet Shop MD and EP Claire Davidson steps down to pursue humanitarian efforts

ASIA – The Sweet Shop announced on Tuesday that the Asia/Mena office Managing Director and Executive Producer Claire Davidson is vacating her position to pursue her international aid and humanitarian projects.

Her personal experiences as an aid volunteer after the strong earthquake that shook Nepal earlier this year was what prompted Davidson to devote her life to doing humanitarian work.

“It was a hard decision to make, but after surviving both of the Nepal earthquakes my life changed in so many ways,” says Claire of her decision. “With all of the volunteer work that I have done with animals in Asia as well as my work with International Medial Corps in Nepal, the move felt natural. The people and situations I have encountered provided me with a truly eye opening experience. I really want to focus all of my efforts on helping better humanity in any way I can.”

Davidson will soon work with the International Medical Corps (IMC), a global non-profit organization, volunteering on ground the emergency, disaster and conflict zones, starting at Liberia to join the fight against the Ebola virus that has killed thousands of lives in the region and other parts of the world.

“I’d like to personally congratulate Claire on her phenomenal contribution to our group. She and Daniel have established the greater Asia market and given us a great platform to build upon. We know that Daniel will continue to build upon that stellar track record. From the whole family of The Sweet Shop, we send Claire off with the best of wishes and admiration on her new adventures, working with the International Medical Corps. So proud of her,” said Paul Prince, CEO & Founding Partner of The Sweet Shop.

Fellow executive producer, Daniel Ho is taking over Claire’s role.

Davidson was with the shop for four years and had worked side by side with Ho since he joined three years ago, “Daniel is an incredible resource and has always been a key part of The Sweet Shop Asia/MENA’s DNA,” she said.

“Working with Claire has been an honour and a privilege. She is the ultimate professional and a fantastic leader. She will be greatly missed, not just by myself and the team at The Sweet Shop, but also by the agencies and clients who have worked with her. Stepping up to her role will be a real challenge but its one I look forward to,” shared Ho.

From its headquarters in Bangkok, The Sweet Shop Asia/MENA has already successfully expanded its office to China, Indonesia and Malaysia, with the duo’s efforts instrumental to the shop’s regional growth.
