MANILA, MAY 6, 2013 – Online shopping hub Lazada Philippines was named Best Online Department Store at the recent Golden Globe Annual Awards for Business Excellence. This comes on the heels of Multiply’s announcement that it is closing shop today.
Lazada joined the burgeoning Philippine e-commerce scene in 2012, offering convenient shopping and attractive discount deals for a wide array of products including books, electronics, appliances, toys, jewelry and more.
Headquartered in Berlin, Lazada is also present in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia. It is owned by Rocket Internet, which portfolio companies include Zalora, Wimdu, Zalando and Linio among many others .
