People: Outbrain appoints Shouneel Charles as Managing Director of India

SINGAPORE — Outbrain, a leading recommendation platform for the open web, today announced the addition of Shouneel Charles as Managing Director for Outbrain in India.

Charles, who previously served as Executive Vice President, Digital at Times Network, brings more than 20 years of digital and media expertise to the new role. In his new role, Charles will be responsible for driving revenue, business strategy, and digital growth.

Charles was appointed as Executive Vice President and Business Head at Times Digital Network, where he was responsible for leading overall digital mandate, driving revenue, business strategy and transformation of television broadcast networks. Charles successfully built and scaled the network’s primary digital news platform www.timesnownews.com.

Prior to joining the Times Network, Charles spent more than two decades in setting up large digital ecosystems, digital news publishing models, and profitable internet and mobile based businesses. As Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at NDTV Convergence, Charles strengthened advertising sales on NDTV’s various digital channels. He was also the National Sales Head at Yahoo India, and Director India at HBO & Warner Brothers, where he developed new business opportunities and built their advertising solutions.
