Philippine public relations’ best recognized at 53rd Anvil Awards

TAGUIG CITY – The best and the brightest in Philippine public relations came together to recognize the best PR programs and tools at the 53rd Anvil Awards “Gabi ng Parangal” held at Shangri-la Hotel at The Fort, Taguig City last March 23.

With more than 400 entries submitted, this year’s Anvil Awards proved to be one of the most competitive. But after being judged by a distinguished panel of jurors hailing from different fields, Smart Communications, Inc.’s PR Program on a Sustained Basis on the “Secured Health Information Network and Exchange (SHINE)” was awarded the Grand Anvil while four entries for PR Tools were recognized with the Platinum Anvil including Jollibee Foods Corporation’s “Kwentong Jollibee Vatentine’s Series true Stories of Love that broke Hearts and Shattered Records”, PageOne’s “Helping Cope With Depression Through Digital Family”, Shell Companies in the Philippines’ “The Golden Voyage: 50th Shell National Students ART Competition”, and DMCI Holdings Inc.’s “Delivering Real Benefits: The 2016 Integrated Annual Report of DMCI Holdings, Inc.”

The Gold Anvil and the Platinum Anvil are the most prestigious awards given to the most outstanding PR Program and PR Tool, respectively. This Year’s Grand Anvil winner is an innovative electronic medical record and referral system developed by Smart Communications, Inc. that aims to enable widespread access to health care services, health information, and provide a secure way to share and exchange patient information.

Meanwhile, the four Platinum Anvil awardees showcased various groundbreaking PR tools like Jollibee’s viral social media Valentine series, PageOne’s digital depression stories, Shell’s exhibit of their 50th Students Arts competition and the integrated annual report of DMCI.

“The winners of the Platinum Anvil and the Grand Anvil embody everything that makes Philippine PR great, “said Owen Cammayo, chairman of the 53rd Anvil Awards and PRSP board director.”These two are the best examples of innovative and groundbreaking PR programs and tools that not only improve the reputation of a brand but also makes a difference in the lives of Filipinos.”

Smart Communications Inc. brought home the Grand Prix, an award given to the company with the most gold award for both PR Programs and PR Tools categories.

Meanwhile, PageOne Media was named Agency of the Year while Metrobank Foundation received the Hall of Fame award.

There are seven Anvil awards that were given to various companies and organizations who submitted their entries for PR tools and/or PR programs. These include the Grand Anvil award, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Grand Prix, Hall of Fame, and Agency of the Year.

Winners were announced at the Gabi ng Parangal for the 53rd Anvil Awards on March 23, 2018, at the Shangri-La Hotel at The Fort, Taguig City, supported by Banco de Oro (BDO)as Gold Sponsor in cooperation with partner sponsors such as Ayala Corp, Ayala Land, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), Globe, GSIS, Land Bank of the Philippines, Philex Mining, Ramon F.
