Advertising tackled at the KBP 35th Top Level Management Conference

Cool and foggy Tagaytay recently played host again to the Kapisanan ng Mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Top Level Management Conference (TLMC), this year dubbed “Beyond Broadcasting”.

Like all media, broadcasting goes hand-in-hand with advertising, with the two industries creating mutually beneficial opportunities.  KBP “Beyond Broadcasting” featured McCann Worldgroup’s Dino Laurena, who spoke on “Turning Radio 360°”, and the interesting talk “Advertisers Wishlist from Media” from Gilbert Simpao of Unilever Phils. 

Returning from his economic doomsday speech of last year, Senator Manny Villar made another visit to the TLMC, as did Secretary Serge Remonde.  A no-show last year, Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo opened this year’s TLMC.  Government representatives reaching out to the broadcast powers that be can only meet election time.

Representing a huge sector of the country’s media, the self-regulating KBP, strengthens its sector through the annual TLMC.  The event gathers broadcast media corporate and individual members across the country for two days to share industry issues.   Delegates also learn from the latest trends and technologies, while displays of the latest equipment makes for good business.

The KBP-TLMC also serves as a national congress where the next Board is elected.  The annual event culminates with the Golden Dove Awards that honors broadcasting excellence in various fields, as well as the personalities behind the craft.
