GLOBAL – Geneva Film Co., the world’s leading producer of stereoscopic 3D commercials for theatre and television, launched the first 3D commercial for an automotive brand in U.S. cinemas July 1st.
The “Pitch” campaign for the Lexus LFA spot, which opened for Paramount’s 3D feature “The Last Airbender,” was created by Team One. It showcases the Lexus LFA’s ability to generate a tone to break a champagne glass. The 3D version of the spot was produced in Toronto by Geneva Film Co’s founder producer/director James Stewart. A 2D version of the spot can be viewed via YouTube.
The Lexus LFA project follows on the heels of Stewart’s most recent 3D work for Sprint which launched in May with Shrek Forever After.
Stewart notes that Geneva is fielding mounting demand for its 3D expertise as advertisers clamor to be first movers in this new and exploding field, as evidenced by recent outstanding industry attendance at Geneva-led sessions on the 3D Revolution at Cannes Lions and Banff Television Festival. “We’re just seeing the tip of the iceberg in terms of major brand acceptance of 3D as a powerful and immersive advertising medium. We are fielding more and more calls every day from agencies looking for our support. A generation from now, we’ll look back on Lexus as true pioneers in this immersive medium. They can proudly claim first to market rights in their brand categories,” says James Stewart.
