PHILIPPINES – MEC Philippines (formerly Mediaedge:cia), one of the fastest growing media agencies locally, announced the appointment of Leon Uy as the first head of MEC Interaction Philippines. Adel Tuason joins the company as business unit director and strategic planning director. Uy and Tuason will report directly to Malu Vasallo, MEC’s Managing Director.

Uy brings with him over 13 years of communications planning and buying expertise, having worked at ZenithOptimedia and Universal McCann before joining MEC in 2008. With Leon’s appointment, MEC’s digital, search and direct specialist unit MEC Interaction Philippines lays a stake in the ground in the consolidation of regional and local expertise in digital planning and buying.

Prior to joining MEC, Tuason was Universal McCann’s Strategic Planning Director for Globe and AOR Director for prestigious brands such Bank of the Philippine Islands/BPI Family Bank, Ayala Land Incorporated and Jollibee Foods Corporation.
In his role, Tuason is tasked to bring MEC closer to its clients such as Wrigley, Sony and Caltex by achieving genuine business results; to lead integrated planning across the agency and lead the business development drive in the Philippines.
