Philippines’ Torres receives McDonald’s APMEA WLN Brand Ambassador Award

Fastfood giant McDonald’s APMEA (Asia Pacific Middle East Africa) Women’s Leadership Network Steering Committee announced that Margot Torres, VP-Marketing of its Philippine operations, was one of two recipients of the WLN Leadership Awards for the second quarter of 2010.

She was recognized with the Women’s Leadership Brand Ambassador Award, along with Shirley Chang, managing director of McDonald’s Hong Kong, who was been awarded with the Women’s Leadership Mentoring recognition.

In a statement explaining the criteria for the awards, a McDonald’s spokesperson said, "Successful nominees are women who consistently demonstrate McDonald’s values, leadership behaviors, and maintain a collaborative approach in contributing to the McDonald’s System."

Torres is high-profile marketing executive in the industry, not just for her work on McDonald’s. She was the overall chairman of the 2009 Philippine Advertising Congress, and is currently the chairman of the Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA).

The WLN Leadership Awards promotes McDonald’s APMEA as an employer of First Choice for women,  identifying and recognizing the achievements of leaders across the region; women who will take the Brand and McDonald’s business to the next level.

"The 2010 WLN Leadership Awards recognize women globally who encourage and support the development of women at McDonald’s and who have made outstanding contributions to the McDonald’s System, both internally and externally."
