DDB Guoan builds senior management team

ASIA-PACIFIC – BEIJING, CHINA, September 15, 2010 – DDB Guoan has announced several senior hires to manage the steady stream of new clients acquired by the Beijing-based office.

”DDB Guoan has experienced record breaking growth in recent months, securing a total of twelve new accounts in merely five months. These business wins, which encompass industries as diverse as residential property, snack foods, commercial property, education and auto, have led to a range of new senior hires across the account management, planning and creative disciplines,” said Richard Tan.

New appointments include suits and creatives. Randy Xiao, originally from Taiwan and formerly Vice-President of EuroRSCG, was appointed Vice President of DDB Guoan in April 2010. With over 20 years experience in advertising, communications and brand management, he has worked for a range of diverse bluechip companies, including China Mobile,
Li-ning (overseas marketing), Yutong Group, Chivas, B&Q, Epson, Virgin, Pfizer and Carrefour.

In response to the need for greater strategic development, Planning Director, Connie Yang, joined the team in July. She oversees the strategic planning responsibilities for several key retainer accounts, including the fashion brand Miiow, Italian sportswear brand Kappa and milk brand Yili.

Senior Account Director, Romio Luo, has overseen the development of a digital team since his arrival in April. He will also be responsible for business development and new account acquisitions. His strengths in digital, CRM and integrated online and offline campaigns have already led to a number of new business wins for DDB Guoan, including Volkswagen and Grand Sun headphones. In the last 7 years of his career, Romio has worked with clients such as Epson, Volvo, Peugeot and AMD.

Additionally, DDB Guoan has also recently hired two new Creative Directors. Brian Yang, an experienced creative professional with 18 years of agency experience that encompass a diverse range of industries, such as auto, liquor, pharmaceuticals and FMCG, is responsible for the development of integrated accounts. Jacky Wong is a young and energetic design specialist who specializes in graphic design, 3D design and merchandising. He heads up DDB Guoan’s newly established design arm and will enhance the quality of all BTL work for key accounts. Brian and Jacky have quickly become a dynamic duo, driving integrated creative development for the agency.

The agency has boosted its local talent across the board, in both account management and creative areas. The Volkswagen VICo team have welcomed Eva Zou, Account Director, and Joya Wang, Associate Account Director. Expatriate Andy Hepburn, originally from Essex, has joined this team as Group Creative Director, along with Stephen Liu, Creative Director.

“Since April this year, we’ve increased our staff strength by almost 80%, incorporating some great new talent, across a range of disciplines, to enhance our existing team and support our rapid expansion,” said Richard. “In addition to boosting our local management team and supporting our existing clients, they have all contributed to our recent business wins.”
