With the aim to secure prestige as an international advertising festival earning worldwide attention, AD STARS 2011: Busan International Advertising Festival held annually in the seaside city of Busan, South Korea, has continuously made efforts to differentiate itself from other festivals in three aspects.

 

First of all, entry to AD STARS 2011 are free of charge, unlike many other advertising festivals around the worldNevertheless, the three AD STARS Grand Prix awards each carry a US$10,000 cash prize. Applicants may enjoy participating in the festival to discover and experience different types of ads at the same time. 

 

Second, it is very easy and simple to enter AD STARS. As the largest international advertising festival in Asia, AD STARS allows entries anytime from anywhere. The festival, now on its fourth year, is the world’s first convergence advertising festival that integrates online and offline participation based on an online system. 

 

Lastly, participants’ works will be judged by award-winning ad professionals. Leading this year’s jury is advertising guru Neil French. Also a number of world-renowned creative directors are invited as judges.  

 

Applicants for AD STARS have grown every year; 3,105 works from 29 countries in the first year; 3,258 works from 38 countries in the second; and 5,437 works from 41 countries last year.  The organizer has set a target of 6,000 works from 45 countries this year. Every year AD STARS is taking another giant step to remain the largest advertising festival in Asia with the most number of entries.
