Awards: With one Gong Award, Singapore creatives can proudly say they’ve won more Gongs than international legends

SINGAPORE — As a local award show that is only open to locally produced work, even a junior creative who bags their first Singapore Gong Award this year can proudly say – with a straight face – that they’ve won more Gongs than any industry legend outside Singapore. A claim that’s not too shabby while you’re still out there chasing Lions and looking for Pencils.

That’s why this year, the Association of Advertising & Marketing Singapore cheekily leans into the truly local nature of the Gongs like never before. How? By playfully taking on the biggest names in the industry who simply cannot compete with locals for this prestigious, proudly Singaporean Advertising Award.

“After a trying two years, we’re happy to bring back the Gongs as a live event with a point of view that’s authentic, irreverent, and fun,” said Andy Grant, CCA 2022 chairman and executive creative director of TBWA\Singapore.

Andy is the creative head at TBWA\Singapore. He has over 22 years of Global experience working across the US, Asia, and Europe. At TBWA\Singapore, he and the team have successfully led the agency to three Agency of the Year titles and helped the agency to move up five places in the creative rankings from 9th place in 2020 to 4th place in 2021 as well as being named Singapore Creative Agency of the Year by Campaign Brief Asia and Marketing Magazines Creative Agency of the Year for the 4th year in a row.
