Getty Images to explore visual storytelling and the future of video at Spikes Asia 2013

ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, SEPTEMBER 2, 2013 – Getty Images is set to share compelling insight around the future of video and the rise of transmedia storytelling during the upcoming Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity on September 15-17, 2013.

“Video consumption has experienced outstanding growth in recent years, especially via online and mobile platforms, as well as motion-enabled advertising like billboards and outdoor digital screens.  Demand for a transmedia experience is seeing advertising strategies shift from static to dynamic content, often co-created through audience participation, enabling consumers to interact with brand stories in unprecedented ways,” said Elvira Lodewick, Getty Images APAC marketing director.

The digital media agency will work together with The Light Surgeons to create a dynamic video wall made up of synonymous screens that will allow delegates to interact with Getty Images creative video content in a unique and playful way. Getty Images’ debut of the video wall earlier this year at Cannes Lions can be viewed here.

For the second consecutive year, Getty Images will sponsor and support the Young Spikes Competition, where young creatives from Asia Pacific compete against the clock to produce an award-winning campaign. Getty Images will be the exclusive content provider for the competition, enabling participants to draw from its broad range of creative imagery to help them produce inspiring work of their own.

Lodewick continues: “Getty Images’ support of the Young Spikes Competition produces work that both informs and surprises us. It is very rewarding to see some of the region’s most talented young creatives use Getty Images’ content to produce such remarkable work.”
