SINGAPORE – From 29 May to 21 June, i Light Singapore (iLSG) returns to electrify the urban canvas with a dazzling constellation of light installations, experiential programming, and a bold rallying call for sustainability.
Presented by UOB and helmed by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), Asia’s leading sustainable light art festival expands its footprint this year beyond Marina Bay, now illuminating the iconic Singapore River and Raffles Place alongside the returning South Beach hub. With the theme “To Gather” in a nod to the shared spirit of SG60 and the symbolic power of red light on the spectrum – the 2025 edition is all about coming together: people, ideas, and dreams for a brighter, greener tomorrow.

“As we celebrate SG60 this year, it is apt that the theme for i Light Singapore 2025 puts the spotlight on the power of collective action. The Festival will once again illuminate Marina Bay and serve as a focal point where diverse individuals, groups and ideas converge to shape a more sustainable future together. We invite everyone to join us in an immersive experience and to be part of the meaningful activities, because a brighter, more inclusive and sustainable future is one that we build together,” said Lim Eng Hwee, Chief Executive Officer, URA.
At the beating heart of the festival, Marina Bay transforms into a living gallery of 17 installations by 20 artists from around the world.
Among them: Take a walk through the meadow with me by Megan Tan and Tan Shao Xuan – a poetic field of 300 glowing blooms made from repurposed acrylic waste that literally lights up with your presence. Meanwhile, Piano Walk by Australia’s Amigo & Amigo invites you to compose music with every footstep. Located at Marina Bay Sands’ Event Plaza, this supersized piano fuses light, sound, and movement into a collaborative sonic experience.

At Clifford Square, Elementary by Montenegro’s Tonoptik turns your movements into digital waves that echo the unpredictable poetry of the ocean, while Urban Oracle by Italy’s Ultravioletto at the Red Dot pontoon beams AI-generated messages across the water with fragments of Singapore’s past, present, and future refracted in 24 glowing letters.

For the first time ever, iLSG extends its reach with new installations across the Singapore River and Raffles Place.
Towering above the UOB Plaza façade is Reverse Waterfall by Taiwan’s UxU Studio in a mesmerizing illusion of water cascading upward, challenging what we accept as natural and inviting us to reimagine our reality. Just steps away, Bridge of 1,000 Dreams by Studio Toer transforms Cavenagh Bridge into a luminous tribute to Singapore’s collective hopes, rendered in glowing bamboo rods.

Raffles Place Park also blooms with The Guardians by Matthew Aberline and The Beautiful and Useful Studio. A whimsical garden of inflatable flora inspired by local botany and designed as a gathering space for all.
Returning as a satellite site, South Beach amps up the immersive factor. Saulux by Malta’s SPLACES.STUDIO brings kinetic magic to the Fountain Plaza, where wind becomes music and light in a dreamy grove of willow twigs. Nearby, This is Not a Screen, created by students from the National University of Singapore spins polarized e-waste into contemplative illusions that challenge how we see and experience the digital world.

The beloved GastroBeats programme is back at the Bayfront Event Space from 29 May to 22 June. Equal parts street food fair, music fest, and design market, this year’s edition features pet-friendly zones, a bustling retail village, and Let’s Trouble The Water!, an irreverent installation starring the Jelilo characters rallying everyone to fight marine pollution with flair.
The lights come on from 7:30PM to 11:00PM daily (extended till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays). Admission is free, with select programmes ticketed. For more info, visit www.ilightsingapore.gov.sg.
