M&C Saatchi KL dominates adobo Design Awards print category

MANILA, APRIL 29, 2013 – M&C Saatchi Kuala Lumpur has dominated the print category in the fourth adobo Design Awards, clocking in the competition’s largest metal haul with a total of nine – 2 Golds, 4 Silvers and 3 Bronzes. 

 
The lone regional entrant’s print campaign for animal rights advocate SPCA, Malaysia garnered 2 Golds in the Press & Poster and Illustration categories. 
 
The campaign, titled ‘Desperate Animals’, is a visual presentation of how mankind’s activities, aimed at progress and economic development, affect them. The series of print ads show four kinds of animals — an orang-utan, a tiger, an elephant and a rhinoceros – cowering at the corner and away from the black space that seems to be taking over the whole frame. The tagline reads: “The more we take, the less they have.”
 
The creative shop also won 2 Silver metals in the Press & Poster category for their print campaigns ‘Catapult’ and ‘VW Dragon Scales CNY Card’. Additional 2 Silver metals were also awarded to the agency in the Illustration category for ‘Catapult’ and ‘Slingshot’. 
 
Bronze metals were given to M&C Saatchi’s print campaigns Kill Boredom and Slingshot in the Press & Poster category and SPCA Letter Box in the Environmental Design category. 
 
The agency wasn’t able to send a representative to receive the awards Friday, April 26 at the Ayala Museum but they thanked adobo magazine for the wins through a video and the metals will be shipped to their headquarters in Malaysia.
