KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – For three decades, McDonald’s Malaysia has marked the Lunar New Year with its beloved Prosperity Burger. This year, in collaboration with Leo Malaysia, the brand goes beyond tradition with The Wish, a poignant film that celebrates the true essence of the season: sincerity, family, and togetherness.

At the heart of The Wish is Jane, a young girl navigating the emotional distance between generations as she reconnects with her grandmother. Despite her struggles with Mandarin, Jane’s heartfelt attempt to express her wishes reminds us all that sometimes, it’s not about the perfect words—but the sincerity behind them. The story resonates deeply with many Malaysian families, reflecting the universal experience of bridging cultural and generational gaps.

“In our 30th year featuring the Prosperity Burger during the Chinese New Year season, we didn’t want just to create another product-centric film,” said Azman Mohammad, Senior Brand Director, McDonald’s Malaysia. “We worked with our partners at Leo Malaysia to unlock a deeper meaning to the customs behind our reunion with elders.”
