Digital: KUMU partners with more Filipino celebrities to share their lives and talents on stream

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The past month has had the KUMU community overjoyed with excitement as the live streaming app has recently brought in even more Filipino personalities to connect with Filipinos all around the world.

These stars delivered their unique brand of entertainment straight to their fans’ screens, and engaged and conversed with them to give a unique insider’s look into their lives. Others, on the other hand, have continued to use the platform to display their talents.

Here is a quick recap of what you may have missed:

New KUMU streamer Ivana Alawi (@ivana) made her debut early last week and raked in just over 6,000 viewers. Not at all bad for her premiere. The 23-year old actress, model and YouTube vlogger treated her fans to an unfiltered live stream session, giving a glimpse of her off-screen personality. Another first time streamer, actress Mika Dela Cruz (@mikadlcruz), took selfies with her fans and even shared a meal with them. She invited a few of her friends to join in on the fun. Rochelle Pangilinan (@rocpangilinan), has also been giving her fans nonstop content on KUMU. From live workouts to entertaining talk shows, she had everything prepared for the Kumunity.

And while there were enough solo streamers to go around, there was just as much group fun that happened. A collaboration that caught the attention of 2,000 viewers was the mini reunion of the cast of Ang Huling El Bimbo. Gab Pangilinan (@gabpangilinan) invited a few of her co-stars to join in on her live stream. The group shared behind the scenes stories and recounted the unforgettable memories they experienced over the time they spent with each other rehearsing and performing their highly successful show.

KUMU did not forget its other music aficionados. Singer Jason Steele (@jasonsteele) went live and treated listeners to incredible performances. To top it off, singer-songwriter and producer Keith Martin made a surprise appearance to play his greatest hit, Because of You, on the piano alongside Steele.

Fans of Morissette Amon (@itsmorisette), a KUMU regular and fan favorite, were also in for a musical concert for the ages. The singer, who hosted a star-studded 24th birthday celebration on KUMU invited artists like Christian Bautista (@xtianbautista) and Lance Busa (@lancebusa) to join in on her candid conversations. However, the cherry on top of her birthday cake was the surprise appearance by the one and only Lea Salonga (@msleasalonga). The Broadway superstar indulged viewers by singing Sun and Moon from Miss Saigon leaving everyone with their jaw on the floor. Having two powerhouses in one stream was almost too much to handle and had everybody going crazy.

Celebrity couples also seemed to have their moment in the spotlight, as expecting couple Coleen Garcia and Billy Crawford (@billycrawford) shared their virtual gender reveal party on KUMU. With a handful of family and friends with them virtually over Zoom — and another few hundred fans joining them on KUMU —  the happy couple were excited to announce that they are expecting a baby boy. From the balloons to the decked out decorations, and the blue cupcakes to match, they spared no expense in showing the world how excited they were for the new addition to their family.

Finally, power couple Megan Young and Mikhael Daez, who just got hitched earlier this year also had something in store for KUMU. The pair’s electric chemistry was on full display during Quiz Mo Ako, which they will be hosting from now on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9pm. Not only will users have the chance to walk away with a cash prize during the quiz show, they will also get the chance to interact with the enviably cute duo. With that sort of takeaway, everyone’s a winner.

If you are sad to have missed all the amazing streamers, there is no need to worry. KUMU has a lot more in store, just keep an eye out for who goes live next.
