Leo Burnett Group Indonesia appoints creative directors on the back of business growth

ASIA-PACIFIC – JAKARTA, INDONESIA, OCTOBER 25, 2011: Leo Burnett Group Indonesia, one of the largest creative agencies in the market, recently added three new creative directors – Sonny Low, Jules Tan, and Wayrizal – to their team on the back of strong business growth. In addition to recent new business wins including the consolidation of the Samsung business, SINAR MAS / MSIG, and La Fonte Pasta by Indofood, the agency has also been soaring high on the creative front this year, winning a Gold “Integrated Campaign” CLIO and a 360 LOTUS at AdFest for McDonald’s Ramadan campaign.

Low and Tan, previously creative directors at McCann Erickson Kuala Lumpur, have 15 years of experience in the business. Individually, they have consistently won a string of awards internationally, regionally and locally including D&ADs, Cannes, Spikes and AMEs, to name a few. Tan won “Best of Print” at the 2011 AdFest. Wayrizal joins Leo Burnett Indonesia from DDB Jakarta. A constant presence at the Indonesian award shows, Wayrizal brings with him a wealth of insights and knowledge of local behavior accumulated over 17 years of experience.

Said Brian Capel, Group Executive Creative Director, Leo Burnett Indonesia, "Integrated creative solutions which engage people and change behavior is what we at Leo Burnett Group Indonesia strive to achieve with every brief for every brand. Jules, Sonny and Wayrizal are three talented creative leaders who embody the passion to create big integrated ideas that we need to propel the agency to the next level in creativity.”

Continued Capel, "As we have grown significantly in business size, the creative department has grown about 400% in the last three years to about 80 creatives now. Coupled with raised expectations, mainly from ourselves, the new senior appointments will help us realize those expectations and to help nurture and groom our current creative talents. It’s going to be a very exciting journey forward for us.”
