Merlee Jayme joins Cannes Lions outdoor jury

THE PHILIPPINES, FEBRUARY 7, 2012: Merlee Jayme, chairperson and chief creative officer of DDB DM9 JaymeSyfu, has been selected as one of the members of the jury for outdoor advertising in this year’s Cannes Lions Advertising Festival. The panel will be led by Lo Sheung Yan, executive creative director of JWT for Northeast Asia and chair of JWT China.
 
Aside from outdoor advertising, Lions are also up for grabs in the film, print, interactive, radio, design, promo and activation, film craft and integrated advertising categories. Awards will also be given to the best media, direct, PR, titanium and creative effectiveness ideas.
 
Ealier, Jayme has been appointed head of the outdoor jury of the Asia Pacific Advertising Festival (AdFest), to be held on March 18-20. Aside from jury responsibilities in different advertising awards and festivals, Jayme has also won several awards throughout her career, including, incidentally, a Gold Lion for media and a handful of AdFest Lotus trophies.
 
Jayme has also been inducted to the Philippine Creative Guild’s Hall of Fame in 2009 and received the Creative Achievement Award in the New York Festivals in the same year.
 
Cannes Lions was founded in 1954 and is now considered the world’s leading celebration of creativity in communications. This year’s festival will be held on June 17-23 in Cannes, France.
