G2 Direct Interactive Malaysia hires three digital leaders

ASIA-PACIFIC – MALAYSIA, MAY 5, 2011 – G2 Direct Interactive Malaysia, the digital and relationship marketing arm of Grey Group Malaysia, announced three new hires as digital expands in Malaysia. Chang Chew Soon, Jennifer Chern and Tang Wai Hoong join the G2 Direct Interactive Malaysia team as Technical Director, Business Unit Head and Digital Creative Group Head respectively.
 
According to Sam Chan, General manager, G2 Direct Interactive, “Our three new hires come with immense experience, having worked across varied industries encompassing local, regional and global markets.” 
 
As Technical Director at G2 Direct Interactive Malaysia, Chang Chew Soon oversees all technical-related matters and is tasked to increase the core competency of the technical team as well as nurture and expand their capacity to support current and future digital marketing initiatives.  
 
Prior to joining G2 Direct Interactive Malaysia, Chang was Chief Technical Officer at software development company Chilliwire Technologies where he handled accounts such as the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office, Samsung, Acer, Nanoident Biometrics and Bioident Technologies. Other experiences include working with NexusEdge Technologies as Development Engineer and later as Country Manager. At Mobiepay MSC in his capacity as Chief Technical Officer, Chang led a team in both Malaysia and Indonesia to design and build a mobile reload payment system. 
 
Jennifer Chern joins G2 Direct Interactive Malaysia as Business Unit Head and will be handling the Procter & Gamble digital account. A veteran with more than 13 years of extensive marketing communications and brand experience in the FMCG, automotive, banking, IT and telecommunications industries, her prior experiences include her role as Group Account Director with BBDO Shanghai where she played an imperative role in the growth of the PepsiCo Foods business as brand guardian and account leader.
 
Chern started off her career assisting the account management team at McCann Erickson Malaysia, and moved her way up to Senior Account Executive and then Associate Account Director with Wunderman Asia Holdings where she managed both the Maxis and Ford accounts. Chern was instrumental in setting up the Ford Indonesia business centre and leading the Wunderman team on the account.
 
Tang Wai Hoong was Head of Creative at Arachnid prior to joining G2 Direct Interactive Malaysia as Digital Creative Group Head. The multiple award-winning creative professional spent most of his career at Arachnid working on accounts such as BMW, MINI, Mead Johnson, DiGi, Toyota, Celcom, Citibank and Public Bank, among others. 
 
With 12 years of experience, it is no surprise that Tang has picked up numerous awards at Kancil Awards, Direct Marketing Association of Malaysia Awards, New York Festivals, Asia Interactive Awards, Asia Pacific Advertising Festival and The Cup. Tang worked on various notable campaigns like MINI Always Open, Craftsmansheep and the BMW Shorties, in addition to businesses like Coke, Ford, Mead Johnson, HSBC and OCBC. 
 
G2 Direct Interactive Malaysia currently works on accounts such as Tiger, Anchor, Procter & Gamble, Alliance Bank, Shell, Hennessy, among others.
