YouGov BrandIndex reveals Samsung is the brand people in the PH would be proudest to work for

MANILA – Samsung is the brand that people in the Philippines would be proudest to work for according to new analysis from YouGov BrandIndex.

The electronic device giant tops the Employer Reputation rankings with a score of 68.8, comfortably ahead of dental hygiene brand Colgate (51.9). Korean conglomerate LG is in third (45.6) closely followed by soap brand Safeguard (45.0), while personal care brand Dove (43.3) rounds out the top five.

Every day, YouGov asks people in the Philippines whether they would be proud or embarrassed to work at 201 brands. This forms a brand’s ‘Employer Brand Reputation’ score. These rankings are based on a year’s worth of data to 30 April 2018.

YouGov has also published its top ten improvers, which is topped by Penshoppe. The clothing brand increased its score by +8.7 points over the past year, beating fellow fashion brand BENCH (+6.5). Several financial institutions have also boosted their reputations as employers in the past 12 months, with Land Bank in third (+4.7) and RCBC in fourth (4.4).

About this study
The 1600 brands in YouGov BrandIndex were ranked using the Reputation score, which asks respondents “Which of the following brands would you be PROUD TO WORK FOR? Imagine you (or your friend) were applying for the same sort of role at the following brand that you currently have or would apply for?” and “Which of the following brands would you be EMBARRASSED TO WORK FOR? Imagine you (or your friend) were applying for the same sort of role at the following brand that you currently have or would apply for?” Only respondents who are aware of a given brand are interviewed.

The Workforce Rankings chart shows the brands with the highest average Reputation scores between May 1, 2017 and April 30, 2018. The Reputation Improvers chart ranks the brands with the highest increase in Reputation comparing the scores for the 12 months ending April 30, 2018 and the 12 month period ending April 30, 2017.
