Asian Publishing Convention 2011 examines publishing in the digital age

ASIA-PACIFIC – MAY 2011 – Issues concerning this digital age leave many in publishing concerned about the future of print. The internet and personal devices are now primary modes of information access and delivery for a good number of readers. Excellent collaboration across borders is needed to provide creative business solutions and ensure that world of multi-media channels call for a more range of skills.

The Asian Publishing Convention (APC) has outlined new facts for publishing pros in the Digital Age in the processing and distribution of content for profit. The APC,  an annual two-day convention for magazines and online publishers, now on its fifth year, will be held on July 7 and 8 at The Landmark Bangkok, Thailand. The Magazine Association of Thailand (TMAT) is this year’s host. The 5th APC, themed “Savvy Content Management for Multimedia Business Extension – What Editors & Publishers need to learn to leverage Digital channels”, has planned extreme enhancements to the program and is reaching out to new countries. APC also features the Asian Publishing Fair, CEO Forum and Exhibitors Clinics. 300 delegates are expected this year.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Professor Stephen Quinn of University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Dr. Quinn has presented more than 150 papers and seminars in 31 countries. He has trained journalists in nine countries and his courses mostly deal with convergence, multi-media and information management.

The Asian Publishing Awards (APA), Asia’s premier awards program that recognizes outstanding achievement in the development of successful business models using the tools and multimedia channels, will be given out by the end of the second day.
