ADFEST 2015 Awards: Dentsu Inc., Tokyo wins Agency of the Year

PATTAYA — After scoring a total of 21 awards, including several golds and a Grande Lotus for Design for its ‘Honda. Beautiful Engines.’ campaign, Dentsu Inc., Tokyo was named ADFEST 2015 Agency of the Year. They also took home the Interactive Agency of the Year award.

Following Dentsu Inc., Tokyo is Whybin/TBWA Group Melbourne with 15 awards including the Direct and Promo Agency of the Year. Its campaign, ‘GAYTMS’ for ANZ Bank took gold awards from Design, Direct, Outdoor, Promo, Media and Lotus Roots.

Leo Burnett was awarded Network of the Year with Leo Burnett Sydney finishing as the top group with 13 awards. Its campaign, Samsung S-Drive won a Grande for Promo Lotus. Not far behind was Leo Burnett Melbourne with 12 awards including a couple of golds for its campaign ‘Honda H2O’ and Slurpee ‘Xpandinator’.

It was also a good year for the Y&R group after finishing with three Grande Lotus—one for its work, ‘MIC: Alice/Moby Dick/Frankenstein/Don Quexote/Dracula/Holmes/Prometheus/D-Day” by Y&R Beijing for Audio Books for Press Lotus, and two Grandes for ‘Education in a Box’ a campaign by Red Fuse Communications [Y&R] (Direct and Outdoor Lotus) for Colgate.

Meanwhile, Hakuhodo Inc.’s ‘Hibiki Glass’ for Suntory, the Advertiser of the Year, was awarded a Grande for Innova Lotus and Lotus Roots.

Other Grande Lotus winners were BBDO Guerrero’s ‘Labels against women’ campaign for Pantene under Effective Lotus, ‘3 Seconds Cooking Shrimp Frying Cannon’ by Tokyu Agency Inc. for Expanded LTE Network under Branded Content and Entertainment and AKQA Shanghai’s ‘Nike House of Mamba’ for Outdoor.

JWT Sydney’s ‘I Touch Myself Project’, a breast cancer awareness campaign also won a Grande Lotus for Best Use of Music and as well as the Grande for Humanity.

Abigail Montana and Margarita Salvador from the Philippines won the Young Lotus Creative Workshop and Popular Vote while Tyo Camp Kaz from Tokyo got a commendation for the Short Films for ADFEST 2015 by The Fabulous Four category.

Tohokushinsha Film Corporation, Tokyo, meanwhile, was awarded Production House of the Year.

ADFEST 2015 received a total of 3,295 entries from 323 companies from 35 cities and gave away a total of 315 awards—130 bronze awards, 99 silvers, 53 gold awards, 6 grandes and 27 special grande and other awards.
