Globe champions safe and equitable workplaces for all

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Globe Telecom continues to advance its vision of a safe, inclusive, and empowering workplace where every individual regardless of gender identity, expression, age, ability, or background has the freedom to thrive.

At the heart of Globe’s corporate culture lies the belief that diversity fuels both innovation and compassion. This principle is embedded across the company’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives, which are not treated as standalone programs but as a way of working, leading, and growing together.

Globe fosters representation across gender, generations, and abilities. Women make up 44% of the workforce, while generational diversity reflects a dynamic mix: Gen Z (5%), Millennials (64%), Gen X (31%), and Baby Boomers (0.5%). The company also proudly supports employees who have self-identified as Persons with Disabilities, underscoring its commitment to building systems that ensure equitable participation for all.

In recognition of the power of community, Globe launched the Globe Inclusion Networks — employee resource groups that provide safe spaces for connection, advocacy, and growth. These include the G Network, a women-led circle focused on advancing gender equality, and the Pride Network, dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for LGBTQIA+ employees and allies.

Globe nurtures empathy and awareness through inclusive learning sessions across its offices. In partnership with the Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride (PFIP), Globe has hosted discussions on SOGIE, transgender inclusion, and psychological safety in the workplace. Regular conversations on allyship, microaggressions, and inclusive language encourage reflection and dialogue, ensuring that inclusivity is lived and felt, not just spoken.

Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz reinforced this commitment by signing the PFIP Pledge of Support, an industry-wide affirmation of inclusive and respectful workplaces. “At Globe, we embrace intersectionality as the bedrock of our cultural strength,” said Cruz. “This isn’t about ticking boxes. It’s about making sure people feel safe, valued, and free to bring their whole selves to work, every day.”

Ivan Garong, Corporate Secretary and Trustee of PFIP, echoed the importance of this partnership “This collaboration reflects how companies like Globe are driving real change by creating spaces where the LGBTQIA+ community is empowered, respected, and affirmed.”

Globe’s inclusive culture has consistently earned industry recognition. In 2024, the company was named Employer of the Year by the HR Excellence Awards for the third consecutive year. It is also a five-time winner of HR Asia’s Best Companies to Work For in Asia – The Philippines Chapter, and an eight-time awardee of the ACES Top Workplaces in Asia.

Globe’s Code of Conduct and DEIB Policy Commitment uphold zero tolerance for discrimination, ensuring that respect and dignity are foundational values across the organization. For Globe, inclusion is not an occasional campaign but a standard that shapes every interaction, decision, and strategy.
