Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) received the Asia-Pacific Tambuli Award for its RCBC ATM Go initiative, recognizing the bank’s efforts to bring banking services closer to underserved communities through community-based financial access points.
The award was conferred under the Masters of Everyday Purpose – Human-Centric Solutions category during the 20th Asia Pacific Tambuli Awards held on June 5 at the Grand Hyatt Manila. RCBC was the only Philippine bank recognized at this year’s awards.
Organized by the University of Asia and the Pacific School of Media and Marketing, the APAC Tambuli Awards honor organizations and brands that create meaningful impact through purpose-driven initiatives and consumer-centered solutions.
The recognition highlighted RCBC ATM Go’s role in addressing long-standing barriers to financial access, particularly in rural and geographically isolated communities where traditional banking infrastructure remains limited.
Through its agency banking model, RCBC ATM Go enables accredited partner merchants to serve as community banking touchpoints, providing access to essential financial services without requiring customers to travel long distances to the nearest bank branch or automated teller machine.
The platform has since achieved 100% nationwide coverage across all Philippine provinces and has become a widely used cash-out channel for beneficiaries of the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
According to RCBC, ATM Go was designed to address geographical, logistical, and connectivity challenges that have historically limited access to financial services in many parts of the country.
Lito Villanueva, Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation and Inclusion Officer of RCBC, said the award affirms the importance of designing financial solutions around the realities and needs of communities.
“We thank the APAC Tambuli Awards for recognizing our efforts to bring banking services closer to communities that need them most. This recognition affirms our belief that innovation creates the greatest impact when it is rooted in a deep understanding of people’s everyday challenges,” Villanueva said.
He added that community banking remains a critical component of the bank’s broader financial inclusion strategy.
“ATM Go demonstrates how technology, partnerships, and innovation can work together to expand access to financial services. RCBC remains committed to developing solutions that empower communities, broaden economic participation, and make banking more accessible for every Filipino,” he added.
The recognition adds to a growing list of honors received by RCBC for its digital banking and financial inclusion initiatives. Earlier this year, the bank received a Gold Quill Merit at the 2026 IABC Gold Quill Awards for its U.S. Virtual Account service through RCBC Pulz. The bank also received five Anvil Awards at the 61st Anvil Awards and an Award of Excellence in Communication Management at the 21st Philippine Quill Awards.
