Fashion in action: The Philippine Star’s “Femme Noir”

PHILIPPINES, MARCH 3, 2011 – In celebration of The Philippine Star‘s 25th anniversary, YStyle premiered the Midnight Bonkers’ production of Femme Noir at Whitespace on February 28, 2010.

Femme Noir is a fashion video, a new medium that’s catching on to showcase style and beauty instead of the traditional centerfold or spread. Midnight Bonkers, composed of Paolo Pineda, Dondi Narciso, and Ejay Leung, are considered pioneers of fashion videography in the Philippines.

The seven-minute film is produced by Audrey Carpio, Ana Kalaw, Celine Lopez, and Liane Reyes of the Philippine Star. Cast and crew were present at the event, as well as their colleagues in fashion and fellow writers from the Philippine Star in their own night of “who are you wearing”.

Femme Noir features femme fatales of Philippine fashion and society: Olivia D’Aboville, Lucille Dizon, Pauline Prieto, Michelle Barrera, Dina Tantoco, Garovs Garovillo, Nadine Howell, Samantha Sadhwani, Kylie Padilla, Valerie Weigmann, and Marga Valdes.

In the film, the ladies are all glammed up for the kill as they close in on a target at the Manila Hotel. From high heels to mod wigs and luscious lipstick colors, these ladies join the ranks of Mata Hari and a long line of Bond girls who are known by their wiles and style. In this online-only video, looks do kill.
