London, 2 June 2009 – Organisers of this year’s Cannes Lions have announced the final total of entries: 22,652 entries from 86 countries. This is a 19.9% drop from last year’s record-breaking entry numbers – but still provides a huge choice for registered delegates.
"Although there are naturally fewer entries across the categories, the Lions remain the ultimate global awards. We look forward to the 11 Juries arriving in Cannes to honour the finest creative work the world’s communications industry has to offer," said Philip Thomas, Festival CEO. The PR Lions, launched this year, also enjoyed healthy industry support.
Judging and awarding all happens during the Festival, set June 21-27 in Cannes. All entries will be on display at the Palais des Festivals throughout the week.
