TV5 to begin showing independent Filipino films on Sine Ko 5ingko: Indie ‘To

MANILA, JUNE 7, 2013 – TV5 is premiering independent Filipino films on television through Sine Ko 5ingko: Indie ‘To. They will be shown every Saturday at 9pm.

The first film to be aired, the political drama-thriller “Bente” will be shown on June 8, Saturday. Starring Richard Gomez, Jinggoy Estrada, Iza Calzado and Snooky Serna, “Bente” juxtaposes the stories of a radio commentator (Estrada) who has to face a town mayor and his hired gun (Gomez) with that of a student activist (played by Aldred Gatchalian) under surveillance by the military and who is on the run with his girlfriend, as well as that of an ex-military man seeking to assassinate them.

On June 15, ‘Litsonero’ features Paolo Contis, who plays the role of a Swiss-trained chef who must juggle the demands of dealing with his family’s issues while struggling to learn to cook the perfect ‘litson’.

‘Manila’, which airs on June 22, is a playbill that has Piolo Pascual playing two roles in a day/night situation: that of a drug addict attempting to reform himself, as well as a bodyguard for a mayor’s child who discovers how little his employer values his life after a shooting incident.

The film featured on June 29 is ‘Fuschia’, directed by Joel Lamangan and starring Gloria Romero, Eddie Garcia and Armida Siguion-Reyna in a family-themed drama about an elderly woman who must deal with her equally old siblings.
