A day after ADFEST organizers cancelled this year’s festival, organizers of the Asian Publishing Convention announced that they decided to move their event to either Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia or Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
Ashok Nath and Cyril Pereira, co-chairs of APC, said in a statement that their decision was reached together with their partners in Thailand, The Magazine Association of Thailand.
While they felt that Bangkok was still a viable venue, "we have to be more prudent because of the many travel advisories against traveling to Thailand from various countries. Both TMAT and us agree that all told, perhaps we should look at Bangkok for next year."
The APC is still slated for July 8 and 9, however depending on hotel availabilities, they said that the event may be moved back a week, at most.
They said their final choice of alternative venue will be announced in the next 10 days.
