Neil Gaiman book signing event in March

He wowed the delegates of the Philippine Ad Congress in 2007, as well as caused mall mobs at his book-signings in 2005.  The comic book writer, Neil Gaiman returns for his Filipino fans yet again, so go grab those books.

Neil Gaiman is one of the top writers in modern comics, best known as the creator/writer of cult DC Comics horror-weird series, “Sandman”.  Gaiman won won nine Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards, including the award for best writer four times, and three Harvey Awards.

The year’s biggest book signing event is at the Powerplant Mall North Court on March 18, from 4-8 PM.  From February 27 to March 4, Gaiman fans can buy his books from any Fully Booked branch in Luzon.  A purchase of PhP2,000 gets a Book Signing Pass for the event.

Those who miss out on the Book Pass can try their luck at the 3rd Philippine Graphic Fiction Awards on March 17, 2010, 7:00 PM at the Rockwell Tent in Makati City.  A hundred lucky Gaiman fans can win book signing slots! The book signing that will take place on the same night.  Entrance to the event is free of charge.

Neil Gaiman and Fully Booked initiated the “Philippine Graphic Fiction Awards” in 2005, after his first visit to the country.  During that visit Gaiman and Fully Booked decided to help spur the growth of unrealistic fiction in the country, after the author realized that “there is already a fine tradition of realistic fiction in Filipino literature.”
