JWT secures most Golds at ADFEST

ASIA-PACIFIC — JWT has once again come out on top at ADFEST, clinching the most Gold awards out of all participating agency networks at the 2010 show.

The long awaited ADFEST results were announced July 26 and JWT walked away with five Gold, six Silver, seven Bronze, 18 Finalist, one Lotus Roots, one 360 Lotus, and one BEST (in Direct).

“JWT India had a very strong performance at this year’s show, taking home 11 Lotus awards,” said Tay Guan Hin, Regional ECD, JWT Southeast Asia. “Across the Asia Pacific region, our creative strength was well represented, with several of our offices—Jakarta, Singapore, India, Melbourne, Sydney, Bangkok and Taipei—either securing a finalist spot or walking away with a Lotus.”

A big winner for the network was RMG Mumbai’s Fujifilm “Funeral,” which took home two Golds in Press and Poster. JWT Bangkok also saw great success with Golds for their Muang Thai “Bridge” and Top Charoen “Ballroom”, both in the Film category. JWT’s other Gold went to India’s Balwadi Night School “Street to School” taking top honors in Outdoor.

JWT India brought home Silver for their Apollo Hospitals “Blood Donation” and Godrej Security Solutions “Torn Envelope” while RMG Mumbai’s Fujifilm “Inner Smile” campaign took 2 Silvers. Rounding out the Silvers for the network were Singapore’s WWF “Noughts and Crosses” campaign and Melbourne’s VicRoads “City GT” campaign, which also received a Bronze.

India added to their Lotus tally with Bronzes for Listerine “The Snake Charmer”, Horlicks Pro-Height “Pro-Height Room”, Karmayog.org “Litter to Lamps” and RMG Mumbai’s Bronze for Fujifilm “Airport”. Sydney’s Kit Kat “Working like a machine (Tennis)” also raked in a Bronze Lotus in Film.

Contract India won big for their work for client Sanctuary Magazine with a BEST in Direct for the “Donkey Thrashes Tiger” campaign, and a 360 Lotus and Lotus Roots for “New National Animal”.

“Though this year’s awards were judged after Cannes, they still hold a lot of merit as we are up against the same steep competition and tough judging,” said Tay Guan Hin. “It’s very refreshing to see that across our network, we are seeing a continued drive to innovate and push our creativity forward.”
