MANILA, THE PHILIPPINES, DECEMBER 2011: Merlee Jayme has been appointed Jury President of the Outdoor Lotus category at the 15th Asia Pacific Advertising Festival, which takes place in Pattaya, Thailand on March 18 to 20, 2012.
Jayme is one of the region’s most influential advertising executives as Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of DM9 JaymeSyfu in Manila, an affiliate of DDB Worldwide.
“Immersing myself in hundreds of great ideas reflecting the richness of the Asian culture is one of the best jobs in the world. And that is what I love about ADFEST. As Jury President of next year’s Outdoor Lotus category, I’m looking forward to discovering the region’s breakthrough ideas in a very challenging medium,” she says. Jayme last judged at ADFEST in 2010 as a member of the jury for the Film Lotus and Radio Lotus categories.
Jayme has worked at some of the Philippine’s top agencies. She was Executive Creative Director of BBDO Guerrero and the Vice President/ Executive Creative Director of Ace Saatchi & Saatchi.
With a long list of awards under her belt – such as the Philippines’ first Cannes Media Lion and many Lotus Awards at ADFEST – Jayme was anointed into The Hall of Fame Award by the Creative Guild of the Philippines in 2009, winning the New York Festivals Creative Achievement Award in the same year. She recently chaired the Creative Committee for the prestigious Araw Awards at the 22nd Philippine Advertising Congress.
After launching DM9 JaymeSyfu six years ago, her small shop of 29 people has been blessed to work with some of the most successful brands in the Philippines like the biggest telecommunications company SMART and PLDT, Asia Brewery ‘s Coors Light, Vespa and Mini Cooper. As a result, in 2010, DM9 JaymeSyfu was voted Campaign Brief Asia’s hottest agency in the Philippines out of a total of 140 agencies.
The creative powerhouse started 2011 with BestAdsOnTv.com ranking it as the #1 Agency in Asia. This year, it won Best in Industry Leadership and Community Service 2011 in the 4As Philippines Agency of the Year Awards.
