In a way, that’s what The Creative Rankings website does for clients, headhunters, and other people on the lookout for the industry’s best.

The Creative Rankings aims to serve as the Billboard charts of creatives. Each creative, agency, network, brand, country, and sector are ranked according to points accumulated for their ads. The points are given out based on how well their ads does during major awards like the Clio, the Creative Circle Awards, Spikes Asia, The One Show, AdFest, D&AD, The Asian Marketing Effectiveness Awards and Cannes. The Haymarket Media-run site’s committee compiles these results and puts them up on the site.

The top thirty ECDs are featured on the front page, and hovering over the cursor gives you the option to view their profile or for site subscribers to add them to their favorites. Visitors to the site can profess to "like" products, ads, and creatives via facebook. while those looking for that special someone to add to their team can filter through profiles with an online form. Creatives subscribing to the site can also make a profile and upload their work on the site for people to view and comment on, and watch their rankings rise as it gets virtual awards.

Campaign Brief Asia also uses awards as basis for its annual creative rankings, but as a way to assess the trends and personalities in the industry. The Creative Rankings, on the other hand, is using its finds for the industry to connect with each other. The rankings themselves are just icing on the cake.
