Gung Ho films launches new directors

MANILA – November 4, 2013 – Production house Gung Ho Films has added three new directors to their in-house line-up: Bia Catbagan, Enzo Marcos, and Charley Sta. Maria.

Catbagan took up Film at the University of the Philippines, where she graduated Cum Laude in 2010. Since then, she has made her first full-length feature film, Suntok sa Buwan, which premiered in January 2012. She is currently working on a short documentary called Letters to the Future.

"I look forward to the new landscape of advertising, where commercials can go from something as concise as a 30s to an elaborate short film. There’s a lot more freedom and room for creativity, and it’s an exciting time to be in the industry," Catbagan said.

Marcos has directed several music videos for artists such as Kjwan, Gary Valenciano, Salamin, and Greyhoundz, and was a director at production outfit Spot On Manila before joining Gung Ho. He is currently working on a series called Manila Regardless, a chronicle of Manila’s thinkers and creators.

Sta. Maria was an OFW, working as a videographer at Image Photo Services, a cruise ship photo concessionaire. She has directed webishorts Books for Babuyan, and The Christmas Countdown High-Fiving Spree.

"The Gung Ho Team has been cooking up all these wild and crazy yet inspired and empowering ideas for awhile now and I look forward to helping make these ideas come to fruition," Sta. Maria said.

Catbagan, Marcos, and Sta. Maria join Gung Ho’s in-house directors Cholo Laurel, Dax Dacayan, and Marie Jamora.
