New leadership for OMD China

ASIA-PACIFIC – CHINA, SEPTEMBER 12, 2011 – Omnicom Media Group has announced promotions in the senior leadership of its China offices. Arlene Ang, managing director, OMD Beijing has been promoted to the newly-created position of CEO, Digital, Omnicom Media Group, China, while Mentor Zou, currently deputy general nanager of OMD Shanghai, has been promoted to Ang’s former position.
 
Arlene Ang’s promotion comes close on the heels of a string of appointments at OMD recently, made in line with the rapid growth of China’s online media industry. She has over 22 years of experience in traditional advertising, digital, CRM, social, mobile and has a strong knowledge of the China media landscape, having worked and been involved in China from 1993. She joined OMD in June 2010 to head up the accounts of Intel, Monster.com besides managing OMD’s Search and Digital Analytics offering before taking up the Beijing office leadership role. Ang continues her role as client lead on Intel. 

Doug Pearce, CEO Omnicom Media Group China, said, “Arlene has an exceptional background in the digital arena, firstly in her own digital business that she built into an eight-office network, eventually acquired by Publicis, and then as leader of Publicis Modem in APAC. She has done a great job for OMD in Beijing and we are fortunate to have her within the network to take on this important role.”
 
Mentor Zou has over 16 years of experience in advertising in China. Zou joined OMD in 2004 and has consistently managed a diverse range of clients – among which include Dong Feng PSA (Citroen, Peugeot), VISA, Levi’s and Fedex – over the last seveb years. Zou has also been an integral driver of new business development.

Both the promotions are effective immediately. Arlene Ang will report to Doug Pearce, CEO, Omnicom Media Group, China while Mentor Zou will report to SiewPing Lim, CEO, OMD, China.
