Paulus wins its first Bronze Lions at 2026 Cannes Lions Design for Hyundai Motor Group’s ‘Vision Pulse’

Independent creative agency Paulus has won a Bronze Lion in the “Use of Emerging Technology” category of the Design Lions at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2026, the world’s most prestigious festival celebrating creativity. The results were announced on Tuesday, June 23, local time.

The winning work, “Vision Pulse: Sight Beyond Seeing,” is a child road-safety campaign for Hyundai Motor Group. It is a real-time collision-prevention solution that uses ultra-wideband (UWB) communication technology to protect children who are invisible in a vehicle’s blind spots. Hyundai Motor Group developed the project together with UWB technology partner Wearby and Paulus.

Paulus led the core creative idea and design execution for the project. Two challenges had to be solved at once: children needed to carry the UWB tag with them at all times, and the tag needed to be recharged regularly. Starting from the insight that attaching a keyring to a backpack is part of children’s everyday routine, Paulus designed the tag to serve as a keyring on a school bag by day and as a mood light by night. This encouraged children to carry it willingly while allowing the device to recharge naturally during use. Paulus also designed much of the campaign directly, including the UI of the in-vehicle app used by drivers.

The jury is understood to have placed high value on the practicality and social impact of connecting an advanced technology concept to a real-world safety problem. “Vision Pulse” previously won a Bronze in the Innovation category at Spikes Asia 2026 and Merits in two categories at The One Show 2026, earning consecutive global recognition for technology-driven creativity.

Paulus is an independent agency with a sustained record of awards at major festivals in Korea and abroad, built on sharp creative insight. Its work spans categories, from Hyundai Motor’s Nano Cooling Film to STAYFOLIO, and in 2024 it became the first independent agency to enter the Top 10 (No. 5) of the Korea creative ranking published by Campaign Brief Asia. The “Vision Pulse” win once again demonstrates that Paulus competes on the global stage with ideas rather than scale.

Kyungsin Pablo Kim, CEO of Paulus, said, “This award is the result of an idea that found its answer in a familiar behavior children already practice. Paulus is an agency that competes on sharp insight rather than scale, and we have been recognized at numerous festivals for creative that cuts to the essence regardless of category. This project reaffirmed that our strength carries through even in work built on advanced technology, and we will keep competing with confidence on the global stage.”

Saffaan Qadir, Creative Director at Paulus, added, “It is an incredible honor to see our team’s creative recognized on the world’s most prestigious stage. We will continue to do our utmost to help brands solve global and social problems through our creative and design solutions.”
