Arena Indonesia nets Indofood’s $180 million global media business

JAKARTA – November 18, 2013 – Havas Media Group’s media brand Arena has been awarded the global media account of Indonesia’s largest food manufacturer Indofood after a competitive pitch process, Havas Media Group announced in a press release.
 
The annual media spend of Indofood in 2013 will exceed US $180 million by year end, according to Nielsen figures.
 
The agencies vying for the account included Carat, Initiative and incumbent Mindshare. 
 
Arena, which currently handles the digital business of some of Indofood’s brands, will handle media planning and buying for their entire portfolio of brands.
 
Havas Media Group launched the Arena brand in key markets in Asia Pacific earlier this year on the back of global LG Electronics win.   
 
Commenting on the win, Riadi Sugihtani, CEO of Havas Media Group, Indonesia, said, “Our incisive understanding of Indofood’s business challenges and a strategic approach to addressing these challenges was pivotal in helping us win the clients trust.
