Crowbar Awards Evening set on August 13

ASIA-PACIFIC –  SINGAPORE, JULY 29, 2013 – From the time it was established in 2001, the Crowbar Awards has always served as a foundation for students who are trying to make a name in the design industry. Annually, students from different countries compete to present their chef-d’oeuvre to be judged by the most treasured pundits in their pitch.

This year, a total of 915 entries were submitted and there are tripling of entries from foreign institutions coming from Australia, New Zealand, USA, United Kingdom, China, Malaysia and Indonesia. Glasgow School of Art, 3D Sense Media School and City College from Singapore are the new participants.

As prepared by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents, the Crowbar advanced from a one-day awards event to a yearlong program consisting of Crowbar Marketing Challenge, Winners’ Workshop, Awards Show, Crowbar Shine and the most important component of Crowbar, which is the 24-Hour Advertising Challenge. 

The 24-Hour Advertising Challenge allows young talents to present their ingenuity with speed. Guided by the industry gurus, students will conceptualize an advertising campaign from a real-life client brief and make their presentation within 24 hours. Five teams from different institutions will participate in this challenge. A new partner for this challenge, e2i (Employment and Employability Institute) will introduce a unique theme of creating solutions for employment and employability.

The schedule will be August 13 for the Winners Workshop, August 14 for the Crowbar Marketing Challenge and August 15/16 for the 24-Hour Advertising Challenge.

The showcasing of finalists’ works and the winners of the 24-Hour Advertising Challenge and Marketing Challenge will be announced in the Crowbar Awards Evening, the finale of the festival.  Crowbar Awards Evening will be held on the 20th of August 2013 and will be attended by 300 industry practitioners, creative professionals, Lecturers and rising student talents. This will be a night of celebration, networking, and talent-hunting.
