Ace Saatchi & Saatchi and JWT Manila want you to call them maybe

THE PHILIPPINES, JULY 5, 2012: It looks like Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen’s catchy tune "Call Me Maybe" has won. The infectious song has not only influenced Hollywood celebrities such as Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, and Justin Bieber to sing to it as it has now penetrated the ad world. 
 
The folks at Ace Saatchi & Saatchi came up with their own version of the viral video where celebrities are recorded on video lipsyncing to the song. The Saatchi crew did the video for fun in May in response to Preview’s "It Girls", which includes Georgina Wilson, Anne Curtis, Liz Uy, Solenn Heussaff among others, viral video version of "Call Me Maybe". The agency’s version shows some of the agency’s crew having fun in their office grounds while lip syncing to the song. Posted May 23, 2012, the video now has more than 2,000 views.
 
 
The girls of JWT Manila were not one to be left out as they created their own take of the video launched in June. The video, now with close to 10,000 views, features clips of the sassy ladies of JWT in different locations while singing Jepsen’s song in Reidiculous Mix.
 
 
Different versions of this viral video have sprouted over the Internet and this phenomenon has contributed to the song reaching number one spot in the digital charts. The song also reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. “Call Me Maybe” has sold over 3.2 million singles and spent four consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Digital Songs chart. It has also dominated Philippine charts, reaching no. 1 in local radio stations.
 
The official video of the song garnered more than 42 million views and has inspired other stars get in on the action. Katy Perry, actor James Franco, the Harvard Baseball team, and more have all posted their own versions of “Call Me Maybe.” Joining in the fun is a parody of US President Barrack Obama’s speech which was cleverly edited to look as though he’s singing the song.
