MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of the Philippines (4As), in partnership with the Creative Guild of the Philippines, held the 2025 Young Lions Local Competition Briefing last April 7 at HIT Productions in Makati City.

A total of 39 young creative teams from 20 agencies participated for a chance to represent the Philippines in Cannes, France at the Young Lions Film Competition in June.

For the Young Lions local competition, the Creative Guild is replicating the intensity of the Cannes Young Lions competition by challenging participants to create a 60-second film within 48 hours of receiving the brief.

The entries will be judged by a panel of industry stalwarts:

  • JURY HEAD: Chino Jayme, Executive Creative Director at Ogilvy Philippines
  • Nonie Azores, Creative Director at Dentsu
  • Carl Urgino, Head of Art at Leo Manila
  • Javey Villiones, Head of Art at VML Manila
  • Nikki Sunga, Creative Director at BBDO
  • Allan Almeda, Group Creative Director at McCann Worldgroup
  • Dante Dizon, Director at Film Pabrika
  • Ivan Despi, Owner and Creative Director at The Acid House

The brief tackles the issue of deforestation: The DGB Group report has revealed that 93% of Philippines’ primary forests have been removed and only 21.4% of the our total land area remains forested. The country continues to lose 47,000 hectares of rainforest annually.

The challenge: Through a 60-second film, encourage citizens to urge their local governments to partner with WWF to reinforce and follow through on anti-deforestation policies and initiatives.

“Bringing together the potential of these young creatives, then harnessing their creativity in solving a problem for the greater good. This is what creative edge is all about,” said Russ Molina, Creative Guild co-chair of the Young Creatives committee
