AD STARS 2019: Philippine Creativity Showcased as Ad Stars Reveals Finalists

BUSAN, Korea — Ten agencies from the Philippines have made it to the shortlist of Ad Stars today, August 22. TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno has the most number of shortlisted entries with the most notable one, ‘This is a Tree‘ for Pacific Paints (Boysen), making it to eight categories, specifically: Outdoor, Print, Media, Design, Branded Information Videos, Diverse Insights, and Direct.

Meanwhile, ‘Baybayan‘ for the Cultural Center of the Philippines was shortlisted under Design, Outdoor, and Print categories; ‘Lilosa Hilao‘ for Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses to Malacanang (CARMMA) was shortlisted under Human Rights, Film, and Branded Viral Videos categories, and; ‘Smells Like a Girl‘ for Suyen Corporation (Bench) Branded Information Videos, and Campaign Videos (Case film) and ‘Generation Fluid‘ for the same advertiser was a finalist for Design.

Leo Burnett Group Manila runs with the second most entries making it to the finalist. ‘Tokoshu‘, ‘Europe‘, and ‘Middle East‘ for Unibank BDO Inc. were shortlisted under the Film category; ‘Doodelivery‘ for McDonald’s Philippines also made it to the Mobile category.

BBDO Guerrero‘s breakout crowdsourced campaign ‘Be Part of the Font‘ is a finalist to the Interactive, and Social & Influencer categories. Their work for Mars Wrigley Confectionery ‘Wrong World Finals‘ is also a finalist for Design, and Interactive categories.

Dentsu Jayme Syfu’s ‘Belo Shady Posters‘ is a finalist to the Outdoor category; and ‘NBS Illiterhate‘ for National Book Store is also a finalist to the category of Campaign Videos (Case film).

GIGIL‘s ‘Shop2Give‘ campaign for Unilever is a finalist to Interactive, and Social & Influencer categories; ‘Regift’ for 7-Eleven under Film category, and their Levi’s Christmas ad ‘Studs’ also made it to the Film category.

NuWorks Interactive Labs‘ ‘Red Horse Music Beats Firecrackers‘ makes it as a finalist to the Film category.

Macho Choir‘ by DDB Philippines for the Philippine Commission on Women is a finalist under Film and Branded Information Videos categories.

Ace Saatchi and Saatchi’s ‘Project Unfriend‘ for Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines is a finalist for Branded Viral Videos, Social & Influencer, and Healthcare categories.

Publicis JimenezBasic’s ‘Lazada Gifted School of Acting‘ and ‘LAZADA INVISIBLE MALL‘ for Lazada Philippines have made it to Film and PR categories respectively.

VLMY&R Philippines’ ‘Lending Voice to the Silenced‘ is Film finalist and ‘Unsilencing the Beasts‘ is a finalist for Outdoor category. Both works are for Power Plant Cinema.
