APPIES 2013 unveils stories behind Asia’s successful brands

ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, AUGUST 15, 2013 – Asia Pacific Marketing Congress (APPIES) 2013 themed to ’See the story behind Asia’s most successful brands‘, has gathered 35 of Asia’s marketing luminaries to assess and award integrated marketing campaigns, held today until tomorrow at the National University of Singapore Society.

Now on its fourth year, APPIES 2013 showcases winning ideas that score on creativity, communication and commercial results. Organized by the Institute of Advertising Singapore (IAS), APPIES 2013 will recognize the best marketing communications and advertising campaigns from 100 shortlisted integrated marketing campaigns across the region covering six categories that include

Consumer Durables, Consumer Services, Food & Beverage, Non-Food FMCG, Business Services and Government, Cultural, Social & Environmental campaigns.

These campaigns will be presented by their creators or brand marketers to the region’s delegates via a unique and challenging platform – a LIVE 4-6-10 campaign presentation format. Each presentation begins with a 4-minute video showing a summary of the campaign’s strategy, ideas and execution, followed by a 6-minute ‘live’ disposition before rounding off the session with a 10-minute dialogue with the judging panel and audience members from the Asian marketing community.

The top five campaigns of the two-day competitive showcase will be determined by APPIES 2013 Advisory Council, comprising of Goh Shu Fen, R3 principal and co-founder (chairman); Rohit Jawa, Unilever senior vice president of global marketing operations; Alvin Neo, Parkway Health International chief marketing officer; Charmaine Wong-Han, chief marketing officer at Pizza Hut Dine In, Asia Franchise YUM! Restaurant International; and Rene De Monchy, assistant general manager, Marketing at Asia Pacific Breweries.

 

The APPIES 2013 will also provide two keynote presentations on The Importance/Role of Social Media in Advertising by Johan Buse, SingTel vice president (Consumer Marketing) and The Real Story: The Insights Behind the Big Ideas by Freddy Bharucha, Proctor & Gamble Asia chief marketing officer.
