PortfolioMNL launches Network Portals

With the aim of making the Philippines number one in creativity globally, PortfolioMNL.com, the country’s first online platform that gathers and showcases creative talents for hire, launched its Network Portals, unveiling 17 partner academic institutions and creative organizations across the country.

In a region where creative hiring is largely word-of-mouth, the Network Portals give local and foreign employers access to thousands of creative talent across the Philippines in just a click. On a single accessible digital marketplace, employers can view jobseekers’ multimedia work samples (photos, videos, and music files), and even resumes. Employers may search for individual creatives by skill, experience level, or location, or search within specific organizations. PortfolioMNL.com hosts the portals of these creative schools and organizations to provide them with an online platform to market the skills of their students, alumni, faculty, and/or members.

“Our Network Portals tear down the logistical barriers to discovering untapped creative talent, providing growth opportunities for both creatives and the companies that hire them,” said Rina Malonzo, a former New York-based creative director who is co-founder and CEO of PortfolioMNL. “We are thrilled to launch our Network with creative schools and organizations that are furiously developing world-class creative talent. With these partnerships, we look forward to doing our part in empowering creative innovation on a national and global scale.”

Here are the ways companies can maximize the Network Portals:

• Companies can recruit from schools around the country from their desktops: alleviating the burden of travel cost and time, and the risk of producing zero results.

• Recruiters can extend their creative talent search to schools and organizations that are not usually in their radar.

• Employers who require creatives with years of professional experience can now tap alumni from their preferred schools.

• Professional creative organizations such as the United Architects of the Philippines function as accrediting bodies that can provide creative headhunters with licensed creative talent.

The launch of the Network Portals–the first service of its kind in the country–accelerates PortfolioMNL.com’s strategy of mapping Philippine creativity and in so doing, organize the local creative economy.

Launched in 2013, PortfolioMNL.com has been a go-to among employers seeking Filipino creative interns, freelancers, and full-time hires. With over 2,500 members and instant access to sample work and resumes, hiring creatives–app developers, architects, editors, fashion designers, furniture designers, game designers, graphic designers, illustrators, industrial designers, photographers, stylists, video editors, writers, programmers, and more – has just become more efficient and precise.
