The advertising wheel makes another round. This time, it’s Badong Abesamis who joins Y&R as executive creative director. His hiring is to replace Leigh Reyes who left July of this year for Lowe Inc. Abesamis starts his new post on December 7.
Chiqui Lara, Y&R president and CEO, confirmed the appointment.
“Badong’s selection was a result of the collaborative effort between myself and Marcus Rebeschini, Y&R’s Regional Creative Director for Asia, with the final nod coming from our Global Creative Head, Tony Granger,” says Lara.
Acknowledging Reyes as “ a tough act follow,” Lara says she “look(s) forward to working with Badong as [he] exemplifies the best of the Filipino Creative person.”
Prior to Y&R, Abesamis was connected with McCann, Leo Burnett and TBWA/Santiago Mangada Puno.
