A psycho killer, a shower, and Solenn Heussaff in Bench short film by Mark Nicdao

MANILA – Bench’s B/TV series takes a grimmer tone in its latest video, ‘Insolence,’ a short film directed by master photographer Mark Nicdao, and starring it-girl Solenn Heussaff.

If the suggestive wordplay in the film’s title is any indication, it is a thriller but perhaps not in the usual sense of the word. It is, after all, a film for Bench lingerie.

The film opens with Heussaff strutting her stuff in a parking lot. The camera reveals a masked silhouette right behind her, but she remains oblivious to its presence.

As she unlocks the door to what is presumably her apartment, the same shadowy figure is shown still behind her. She still doesn’t see it, even as she shuts the door and walks in to the apartment, which turns out to be dimly lit and filled with taxidermy and creepy paintings, as if to remind the audience that they are watching a horror movie and not just stalking beautiful woman.

Heussaff then walks up the stairs, slowly stripping down to her skivvies while doing so. She enters a bathroom, poses in the mirror, turns on the shower, but doesn’t hop in. Apparently, she is waiting for the bath tub to fill up.

A certain amount of time passes–presumably quite a while, as one can imagine it takes pretty long to fill up an entire bath tub using the shower. She enjoys her bath, still in full make-up. Then, right before she can completely tune out, the door slams, but not before revealing the creepy masked figure behind it. Of course.

Heussaff is then shown searching her house, of course in the same underwear she had been wearing before she hopped in the bath. And of course, she cannot find the psycho stalker anywhere, so she decides to lie down for a while and show off her lingerie and her tattoos before she resumes her search.

The film’s end is rather unsettling, though there are enough close-ups of Heusaff’s tattoo collection and Bench’s lingerie collection on Heussaff to please her fans.
