Animation house Cirkus comes to ADFEST 2010

ASIA-PACIFIC – BANGKOK, THAILAND, FEBRUARY 24, 2011 – Auckland-based animation house Cirkus is coming to ADFEST this year to explain the complexity of the animation process from creating storyboards to the edit room, demystifying the costs of producing animated films.

Presented by Executive Producer Marko Klijn, the Seminar will analyze a few of the numerous pitches Cirkus has participated in over the years to prove how important it is to have realistic expectations for each production job.

“We all want to produce great commercials, but sometimes unrealistic expectations impact heavily on quality of output,” says Klijn, who set up Cirkus in 2006.

Some clients will say: "I want a 30-second TVC that looks just like Avatar but costs only $80,000 and is finished within four weeks”. Unfortunately, this is unrealistic, according to Klijn. It is far better to understand the complexity of the animation process to ensure your animated films are completed on time and on budget.

Klijn’s advice will help advertising executives manage the expectations of their clients. He will also explain the best way to achieve high quality work on a low budget using alternative animation techniques.

Cirkus is an award-winning animation house in New Zealand that provides concept, storytelling, character animation, environment, modelling, live action shoots graphics design and visual effects.

“In a Cirkus anything goes. We love breaking the rules,” says Klijn.

"How much animation can my dollar buy me?‟ takes place on Friday, March 18, 2011, part of the seminar program of the three-day ADFEST from March 17 to 19, 2011. Register at www.adfest.com
