MANILA, MAY 3, 2013 – Dan Matutina debuted his glow-in-the-dark slipper design at one of the much-awaited annual summer events in the metro, Make Your Own Havaianas, on until Sunday (May 5) at the Rockwell Tent.
Working around the theme Imagination, it was the first ever collaboration between the Brazilian brand and a Filipino designer. Packaged in carbon blue soles, Matutina’s creation features spacemen holding out space markers connecting stars to form images. It represents how Havaianas enables everyone’s creativity and imagination to take off to greater heights.

Guests were treated to a complimentary pair of flip flops, assembled on the spot with soles, bands and pins of their choosing.
The brand’s first major crowdsourcing contest, You + Havaianas, was also announced at the event. You + Havaianas: The Search for the Next Best Design Collaboration is open to all Filipino citizens aged 15 to 45.
