Design: Swapping Recipes to Save the NYC Restaurants, Decade’s “Family Meal” Project is a Fun Community Initiative During COVID-19

NEW YORK — If you miss dining in your favorite NYC restaurants, now you can always follow some of their recipes while they’re closed, and at the same time support their employees. Family Meal is a fun online initiative by branding studio Decade to donate to the staff fund of some businesses in New York City that has been closed down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As these establishments remain unable to operate and provide salaries for their cooks, waiters and waitresses, volunteer designers and illustrators recreated recipes from these restaurants into fun visuals that anyone can download as they donate to the team. It doesn’t matter if you’re a regular customer or a first-timer, this project is open for anyone wanting to bring a little bit of the “outside world” virtually inside their homes, or just anyone who wishes to help these employees out. As everyone working on the initiative is a volunteer, Family Meal assures sponsors that all the funds will go directly to its partner restaurants.
